“The Train to Pakistan”

 Book review on “The Train to Pakistan” by Khuswant Singh. Tell what the novel is about (in this case the consequences of British India’s partition and into two countries India and East/West Pakistan. Indicate what the book is about and what it might mean to a reader (by explaining what it meant to you). Key points to keep in mind are describe, analyze, and express. Questions to be answered within the review: What is the story about, what does the story tell you about India village life and about religious differences/social conditions, what does it tell you about people in general and about the Partition of British India, who are the characters in this story (not all human, example train and monsoon) and what are their roles/relationships, who is the hero, why is there no strong female character and is this an issue?
