Our Very Cool Textbook Chapters Listening Assignment Beginning with Chapter 5 and ending with Chapter 18 –
Students will select One Jazz Musician (Vocalist or Instrumentalist) or Band or Composer from each chapter (Chapters 5-18) to research, listen to, and select One Song by that musician, band, or composer to profile. Again, students can select a Composer, an Arranger, a Vocalist, an Instrumentalist; or a Jazz Duo, Trio, Quartet, Quintet, Sextet, Septet, Octet, Nonet, or a Big Band. This is an exploratory assignment designed to get you into the textbook to become aware of the numerous genres and respective musicians in Jazz music.
