Peer groups certainly play a critical rold in the development of the adolescent population. Especially if an adolescent is easily influenced by others, they may be at risk for being easily influnced by their peers. I am a strong believer that the type of people we surround ourselves with greatly contributes to who we are and who we become. This applies to adolescents to. For example, if an adolescent is around peers that are very much in to partying and even drugs, that individual may be more likely to experiment with drugs than an adolescent who was surrounded by peers who were not in to these activities. Even if an indidivudal is not necessarily close frriends with their peers, the actions of their peers can still have an impact on them.
Were you easily influenced as an adolescent?
